IMAGICA Scanners Installed at FilmLab in India
Mumbai's Leading Film Laboratory Adopts IMAGER XE Advanced Plus Scanners for Film and Commercial Projects DMN Newswire--2007-8-16--IMAGICA Technologies Corp., the engineering solutions division company of IMAGICA Robot Holdings, Inc., announced today that leading Indian facility Filmlab has acquired two IMAGER XE Advanced Plus scanners to drive the company’s expansion into digital intermediate (DI) services.

The IMAGER XE Advanced Plus scanners will be an integral part of Filmlab’s DI and film restoration workflows at its new Mumbai-based digital facility providing complete services for feature film and commercial projects produced in India and internationally.

“We are extremely pleased by Filmlab’s acquisition of the IMAGER XE Advanced Plus scanners,” said Yasushi Mishima, President and CEO, IMAGICA Technologies Corp.  “It is an honor to have been selected by Mumbai’s leading film laboratory as the scanner of choice for the company’s new direction into the world of DI.”

Filmlab is located in the hub of the Hindi film industry in the Goregaon region of Mumbai.  As the region’s leading film laboratory, it has been the mission of the company to provide world-class service facilities for filmmakers and commercial producers alike.

“When we designed our new purpose-built facility for DI, we wanted to deploy a state-of-the-art pipeline,” said Sanjay Patel, Managing Director, Filmlab. “Our decision to acquire the IMAGER XE Advanced Plus as our scanner helps us meet that goal and delivers the speed and reliability that our film and commercial customers demand.”

The IMAGER XE Advanced Plus scans 35mm motion picture film with scan rates of 1.9 seconds per frame for 4K and 1.3 seconds per frame for 2K.  35mm 3 perf and 16mm/Super 16mm are also available as options.  IMAGICA recently rolled out a Wetgate option that reduces the cost of dust and scratch removal for restoration and remastering projects.
